... to the largest center of contemporary art in Mallorca!

CCA Andratx is the largerst centre of contemporary art

in Mallorca.

Located on the southside of the Tramuntana Mountains, only 30 minuts away from Palma, the CCA Andratx is dedicated to the creation and exhibition of Contemporary Art. It offers a unique cultural experience, and the Studio Program is open to national and international artists.

The CCA Andratx was founded in 2001 by Jacob and Patricia Asbaek. The 4.000 m2 building has a minimal but traditional style that is perfectly integrated in the breathtaking natural scenery of its surroundings. CCA is one of the largest centres of Contemporary Art in the Balearic Islands as well as in the rest of Europe.

Visitors, collectors and artists are invited to spend a day exploring art and nature whilst enjoying the many facilities of the CCA Andratx.

For more than fifteen years, CCA Andratx has been a production place and a platform for artists. In conjunction with the presentation of high-profile international contemporary art by CCA Kunsthalle, CCA offers an Artist-in-Residence Program. Over 500 artists from 20 different countries have already benefited from this program.

CCA Andratx assigns to artists 4 studios free of charge for a period of 4 weeks.

Within the Artist-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host Franziska Furter.

Furter was born in Zurich, Swiss, in 1972. She lives and works in Basel und Berlin and she is staying in Studio Verde during March 2020.

The artist graduated from the Kunstgewerbeschule in Zurich (1992-94) and from the Hochschule für Bildende Kunst HKG in Basel (1994-97). Her works have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions (Kunstverein Arnsberg, Palais de Tokyo – Module in Paris, Towner Gallery in Eastbourne, Kunsthaus Baselland).

Within the Artist-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host Carsten Fock.

Fock was born in Bad Homburg, Germany, 1968. He lives and works in Berlin and Vienna, Germany and he is staying in Studio Azul during March 2020.

The artist studied Freie Kunst (free art), first at the College of Fine Arts Kassel and after from 1997 to 2002 at the State College for Fine Arts Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main in the classes of Georg Herold and Per Kirkeby. In 2002, Fock received his degree at the Städelschule as a pupil of Per Kirkeby.

In his drawings and paintings, Carsten Fock connects the media text and picture, mixes motives from the 19th century with pictorial genres from today’s pop and popular culture and works interdisciplinary with other artists, designers and musicians.

Within the Artist-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host Jakob Steen.

Steen was born in Cambridge, UK, in 1986. He lives and works in Præstø, Denmark and he is staying in Studio Amarillo during March 2020.

Jakob Steen is an experimenting visual artist working across multiple disciplines and media. Steen debuted in 2018 with his first solo show Om Mani Padme at Collaborations by Tania & Thomas Asbæk. Steen’s work is found in a space between the figurative and abstract painting, where contact is established between the physical realm and a cosmic energy, embedded in his work.

He also investigates dark colors because he is interested in what you see when you close your eyes.
