Artists in residence, October 2017

Yelena Popova

Within the Artists-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host the artist Yelena Popova. Born in 1978 in Urals, Russia, Popova studied Set Design and Construction at the Moscow Art Theatre School before graduating from MA Painting at the Royal College of Art in London in 2009. In her works, she primarily focuses upon matter and materiality, using a wide variety of media to open up discourses to her audience. She creates discussions based upon the systematic relationship between objects in Industrial and Capitalist cultures. Yelena currently lives and works in Nottingham.

Peter Freitag

Within the Artists-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host Peter Freitag. Born in Ochsenfurt, Germany, in 1972, Peter Freitag studied Fine Arts at the University of Illinois at Chicago – School of Art and Design (1998) and at the Hochschule der Kuenste en Berlin, Germany (1994-1999). Currently, he lives and works in Berlin, Germany, and he will be staying in the Studio Azul during October 2017.

Klaus Weber

Within the Artists-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host Klaus Weber. Born in Sigmaringen, Germany, in 1967, Klaus Weber studied at the HdK-Berlin, Germany (1995). Currently, he lives and works in Berlin, Germany, and he will be staying in the Studio Verde during October 2017.

Sofie Bird Moller

Within the Artists-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host Sofie Bird Møller. Born in Denmark in 1974, Sofie Bird Møller studied Fine Arts at the Byam School of Art in London, United Kingdom (2006-2007) and painting in the Academy of Fine Art, Munich, Germany (1999-2005). Currently, she lives and works in Berlin, Germany, and she will be staying in the Studio Rojo during October 2017.
