Artists in residence, July 2019

Núria Fuster

Within the Artists-in- Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host Núria Fuster. Fuster was born in 1978 in Alcoi, Spain. She is currently working and living in Berlin, and will be staying in Studio Rojo during July 2019.

She finished her studies of Ma Fine Art-Sculpture in 2002 at Universidad Politécnica de Valencia in Spain. She has participated in numerous exhibitions in Spain as well as in Germany, Switzerland, Uruguay, USA, Austria and South Korea.

Núria Fuster’s practice is characterized by the mediums of photography, installation and sculpture whereas primitive agents such as air, fire, temperature changes or gravity actively participate and determine the work. Her interest extends into notions of inherent tension and controlled chaos through material
reorganization. Her structures reflect points of focus in behaviors and processes that evidence the natural hegemony of things.

Jong Oh

Within the Artists-in- Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host Jong Oh. Oh was born in 1981 in South Korea. He is currently working and living in New York, and will be staying in Studio Amarillo during July 2019.

He finished his Master of Fine Art studies in 2011 at School of Visual Arts in New York City. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in USA as well as in Germany, Mexico, Spain, Austria, and South Korea.

Jong Oh’s practice is characterized by his minimal sculptures that respond to the given spatial situation. His interest extends into limited selection of materials such as strings, fishing lines, Plexiglas, and wooden rods, which investigate meeting points between testing the limits of visibility and appealing to the viewers’ experience of the world. His structures reflect for an attention to small details, especially in the hectic bustle of everyday life.

Guillermo Mora

Within the Artists-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host Guillermo Mora.Born in 1980 in Madrid,Mora graduated from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid and The Art Instituteof Chicago (2007). He obtained his MFA from the European University in Madrid (2009). Currently, he lives and works in Madrid and will be staying in the Studio Verde during September 2020.

Erika Hock

Within the Artists-in- Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host Erika Hock. Hock was born in 1981 in Dschangi - Dscher, Kirgisistan. She is currently working and living in Cologne, and will be staying in Studio Verde during July 2019.

She finished her studies of Visual Arts in 2009 at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and her Postgraduate Program in 2013 at HISK (Higher Institute for Fine Arts). She has participated in numerous exhibitions in Germany as well as in Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, United Kingdom, South Korea and Italy.

Erika Hock’s practice is characterized by the fluid crossover in between sculptural
and architectural elements. Her interest extends into tapestries and furniture, which investigate meeting points between history, society and culture. Her structures reflect our changing relationships with how we navigate time and
space as well as the modernist heritage.
