Artists in residence, December 2023

Stine Ølgod

Within the Artist-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host artist STINE ØLGOD (* 1989 in Denmark). She studied Time based-media at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg and Object sculpture at the Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien. In her praxis that spans from sculpture to photo-collage and drawing she explores notions of privacy, voyeurism, and hidden power structures. Through the use of materials like metal, glass and effect painting techniques she creates works that both mirror and stare back at the observer and thus asks the question; who is performing for who? Stine currently lives and works in Vienna, Austria and will be staying in Studio ROJO during December 2023.

Marta Troya Gracia

Within the Artist-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host artist Marta Troya Gracia (1995 in Malaga, Spain). Marta Troya is a Spanish visual artist born in 1995. In 2018, she graduated from the Royal College of Art, where she did a Masters in Painting. Marta combines age-old craft skills with contemporary techniques and subjects. The artist takes delight in working with her hands and has spent extended periods of time learning and creating alongside artisans and craftspeople from across the world. Marta’s work is partly focused on redeeming, respecting and honoring artisan work and indigenous people’s knowledge. She currently lives and works in Malaga and will be staying in Studio Yellow during December 2023.

Mads Egeberg Hvidtfeldt

Within the Artist-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host artist Mads Egeberg Hvidtfeldt (1989 in Denmark). He studied at Städelschule in Frankfurt and the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Mads works in various mediums, with digital art and painting as his predominant fields of practice. In his work, Mads aims to use the visual vocabulary accumulated throughout history and integrate it with scenes from his immediate surroundings in the present. His interest lies in the deeper narratives hidden in these images and the cultural norms of image-making that are reproduced again and again. By delving into conventions, archetypes, and the repetitions prevalent in our visual culture, he seeks to gain insights into his identity within the broader context of society and its expectations. Mads currently lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark and will be staying in Studio Azul during December 2023.

Line Lyhne

Within the Artist-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host artist Line Lyhne (* 1991 in Aarhus, DK).  She studied at the Städelschule Frankfurt am Main, Accademia de Belle Arti di Brera Milano and Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg. Lyhne’s works employ various art historical references and thus formally resist a clear classification. By using forms and concepts inherited from art history she addresses issues of functionality, decoration and abstraction. Her works call attention to the space around them exploring hierarchies between architecture, object and body. In 2022 she received Niels Wessel Bagge’s Honorary Grant. Line currently lives and works in Frankfurt am Main, Germany and will be staying in Studio Verde during December 2023.
