LAURENCE KAVANAGH

Within the Artists-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host the artist Laurence Kavanagh. Born in 1976 in Liverpool, United Kingdom, Kavanagh is an artist and a curator, developing his visual practice across a range of media, including collage and installation. His sculptural work explores the ways in which objects, like props, come in and out of focus as they are invested with narrative value and projected memories. Laurence often relies on cinematographic or literary references to provide a framework for his pieces, translating their sequential arrangements into multi-layered images and spatial constructions reminiscent of set design. Laurence currently lives and works in London and will be staying in Studio Verde during April 2023.
