IRINA OJOVAN

Within the Artists-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host the artist Irina Ojovan. Born in 1988 in Chisinau, Moldova, Ojovan’s real-life observations are the impulse and foundation of her artworks. By giving up the figurative image Irina focuses on a linear-geometric division, translating sensations and emotions into shapes, forms, shadows, colour fields, lines and other geometric figures. In her artworks the idea of juxtaposition of “information“ that an image or text is able to give and “non-information“ as information is in the center, opening up a discussion on the artist’s role of an intermediary and translator. Irina currently lives and works in Munich and will be staying in Studio Azul during December 2022.
