ELEMENTUM

Singular Positions in the CCA Collection

ELEMENTUM is an international group exhibition specifically created for the CCA Gallery. The exhibition presents a selection of works created in the CCA Studios and delves into the wide range of material possibilities achieved through direct, physical or intellectual experimentation. The selected works share a common use of a formal language which, reduced to the elementary provides the works with an intense awareness of the presence. The show explores the materiality as a site, not only as an object to be perceived, but as a time-space code.

In response to a moment marked by existential threats and transcendental anthropological, social and economic changes at a global level, this exhibition advocates a return to a human scale and invites visitors to reflect on their inhabited territories. These territories exceed the strict physicality/presence, both of the body and of the work, and lend themselves to an expansion in the metaphorical possibilities of the works.
