Sala Espai is dedicated entirely to the work of Marta Blasco, a Valencian artist who, after two decades in Mallorca, has become a key figure on the local art scene. Her career ranges from interventions in emblematic places, such as ‘La Veu de la Sibil-la’ in Mallorca Cathedral in 2017, to contemporary reinterpretations of works that have marked art’s history.

Blasco's work offers a unique vision at the intersection between the traditional and the contemporary. In this section of ‘Septiembre’, attendees will be able to explore the artist's de-drawings, as well as reinterpret the meaning of iconic works through her contemporary vision, as in her version of Las Meninas or La Señorita d'Avignon (2024).

Marta Blasco is a bridge between the local and the global, the past and the future. Her inclusion in ‘Septiembre’ underlines the CCA's commitment to the visibility of local artists, using the centre's platform to highlight their cultural impact on the island.
