Artists in residence, June 2021

Hanakam & Schuller

Within the Artists-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host the artist-duo Roswitha Schuller (AT, 1984) and Markus Hanakam (AT, 1979), collaborating together since 2004. As artists and explorers, Markus Hanakam and Roswitha Schuller redesign the rules of the fine arts for their own purposes and create unconventional arrangements and new world designs in videos and objects. They currently live and work in Vienna and Berlin and will be staying in the Studio Rojo during June 2021.

Samuel Boutrouche

Within the Artists-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host the artist Samuel Boutrouche. Born in 1979 in Avranches (FR), Samuel is a French artist and co-founder of the Kolkoz collective. Having studied photography, as well as experimented with computer generated images and video games, Boutruche has always been attracted by technical images, their applications and influences. As co-founder of the art collective Kolkoz, he has referenced numerous forms of technology, with a Pop twist. Since his first work in the early 1990s, he has constantly played - literally and figuratively - with the effects of simulation. Each of his works represents a duality - of a reality, a person or a form - created by modelling. He currently lives and works in Paris and will be staying at Studio Amarillo during June 2021.

Nik Nowak

Within the Artists-in-Residence Program, CCA is delighted to host the artist, musician and curator Nik Nowak. Born in Mainz in 1981, Nowak studied Berlin University of the Arts (Universität der Künste) from 2002 to 2007. Currently Nik Nowak lives and works in Berlin and will be staying in Studio Verde during June 2021.
